1. What's a Hoopty?

2. Outside the USA, 11/8/00 means 11th August. (I was trying to work

out why you didn't know whether you could drive)

Oops! I didn't event think about the transatlantic difference - how

very ethnocentric of me ( " Typical American " - right?). Sorry about

that.

Anyway, " ~THE~Hoopty " is my affectionate name for my car (which is

actually a Subaru) " ~A~hoopty " is slang (American, I guess) for a car

that is in poor shape.
