Depending on the coverage and your age, it sounds like a remarkable deal.

I suggest you never let anyone talk you into " upgrading. " That usually means

less coverage for more expense. I've seen it happen to people too often.

Gretchen are you sure they didn't misunderstand and are thinking of Charcots

foot? Seems like that would explain the foot only part. ~>Becky M.

Dear Gretchen

I have CMT and obtained Long Term Care Insurance with the

California Public Employees Insurance a few years back. It was

during an initial open enrollment in which they excepted anybody who

wanted to enroll in the program. I did not have to answer health

questions or take a physical. I pay about $800 a year. My husband is

covered through me and pays more because he is older than I.

Gretchen and all. LTC Insurance is a product that I handle, I have not

thought about CMTR'S being eligible for LTC Insurance. I will look into it

within the next few days and see what is available and how difficult it is

for us to be able to have this coverage. I will get back with all on it

within the next 3 to 5 days. Please allow me that time as there is quite a

lot of underwriting with this product. :) jr luv u all. have a good weekend

Do not stick your neck out until I get back to you all,

Gretchen:

As a insurance agent, what companies did you check with? I would like to have

an idea for my own personal info. You can e-mail at our office e-mail if you so

desire, if you would rather not mention the names on this cite. Our office mail

is:

aavantis@...

Thank you

Jane

Hey ,

I was looking into LTCI and my agent said I WOULD qualify. Even with

CMT. It sounded too fishy. She was too pushy, the sales pitch with

'lower rates' and all that jazz. I said I needed time to think and

compare. I checked into a few others and found out my CMT related

problems would NOT be covered. Like if I needed help because I had a

normal heart attack, that would be covered, but if I needed help because

my feet wore out and I couldn't walk, that wouldn't be covered. My

advise, shop around, watch out for pushy sales agents. Spend time

reading the fine print.
