Guest guest
Although not a site for physician recommendations, the California Medical Board has a site that patients can check to see if their doctors have had any legal action taken against them. In California, many physicians have patients sign that any lawsuits must be settled by arbitration. These may not show up in a search. Other states may have a similar web site. If any doctors that you may be considering appear in your search, this may help you decide. There is another site that lists doctors that receive payments from companies for teaching, research, guest speakers, etc. The site is called Dollars for Docs. Again, this site does not recommend. However, if your potential physician choice appears, you can check how much he or she was paid or compensated (some companies may pay for expensive dinners, trips etc). For example, if your doctor wants you to get a spinal cord stimulator by company ABC, and company ABC paid your doctor alot of money, whose interest are they placing first. The web site is http:// projects (dot) propublica (dot) org (slash) docdollars (Remove spaces and replace ( ) with . or / ) Good luck with your search. Hope this helps. Tom S. Tom: I believe typing in a basic internet search for the speciality, example, best neurologist in whatever state or U. S. I would then look at his bio, what university, research, or years he has practiced. I always then type in a Doctors and complaints. The state liscening board also will know of the lawsuits or complaints are posted. I use Health Values but mainly their bios. I have also looked at patient reviews.
