Guest guest
Thank you so much for replying. I do see a very good Therapist but he does not give meds. He is a Psychologist. My primary Physician does not go there, she said, as she is an Internist. I went to the clinic in Ct. and the Doctor was so old that he asked ME if I thought I was bi-polar. The minute i say i am a recovered alcoholic (26 years) they think I will get addicted to something and here I am afraid of things that alter my mind. I have spinal stenosis in the lumbar area and a very arthritic knee so turned in that I could use a brace and possible torn maniscus. He said no use doing Surgery cause it will just tear again at that angle. Re: family, my daughter has been on anti-depressants at times for panic and anxiety. I have 2 sons with OCD, one of which has Asberger's syndrome. He has been at least 7 meds at one time and the effects at times horrendous and I had to handle it alone. So, being that my one son is in NYC, one in a program in Ca and my daughter in Boston, i feel really alone. I myself have had a really bad reaction to a simple muscle relaxant. My body was jumping all over. My pharmacy know I take librium, and it is old, but when i said i was a recovered alcoholic, they won't give me xanax which is what my Therapist suggested as i have specific phobias as well. I also quit smoking cold turkey 7 months ago with no planning and have never gone back so I do have good control but these Doctors don't know me.I am from the suburbs of NYC and they are backward here in my area i think. Thanks for the reply. Cat text portions of this message have been removed]

Hi Cathie What kind of pain do you have? What are is causing your pain? Why don't you call your pharmacist, and see if it's safe, to take Librium, and Tramadol together. That should reassure your anxiety. Have you been seeing a counselor about your anxiety? You might also wish to talk to a psychiatrist, if you need medication. My daughter has horrible anxiety, and Celexa helps her so much. You can get it at Walmart with their $4 program. , takes Klonopin too. It's not on the $4 program unfortunately. She has been gradually reducing the Klonopin, and will probably only need it on rare occasions now. Librium, is certainly a good medication, and has been around for years, and years, but there are better medications. Something, long acting, plus a small dose of a medication to take when your anxiety is at it's worst would be ideal. Tell your doctor, exactly how you feel, and see if that helps. If you feel anxious talking to the doctor, write, or type it on a short note, and give it to her. It's not unusual to feel anxious when you see your regular doctor, but it certainly understandable when it's a new one. Actually, I come from an entire family of people with anxiety problems. That includes me. My psychiatrist, and counselor have helped so much. I wouldn't trade them for anything. My psychiatrist, handles my pain management too. The Lidocaine patch, contains only a small portion of the medication. It only numbs the surface of the area that hurts. It's not the same medication used for a epidural. If you feel still feel unsafe about taking these medications, don't take it. Please call your doctor on Monday, and explain the problem. There are all kinds of other medications that can be prescribed. If we knew which medications have caused you problems, and what kind of problems they caused we could help you better. Good luck. Now you know that you are not alone. Like I said before, my whole family deals with it. Kaylene PS Keep a note of all the medications you have taken, and what kind of problem they caused you. This way you can take it with you when you see a doctor. Your pharmacist, should know about any allergies you have too. ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo!
