Guest guest
I have a fact sheet but can't figure a way to post it. I have been having these treatments since 1994. THEY WORK> West Penn Hospital in Pittsburg. As i get older and my condition worsens I have these treatments more often, for awhile last year I had them every two weeks. Have not gone to every 5 weeks and hope to be able to return to a maintenance schedule of every 2-3 months. At this hospital it is in MED short stay as an out patient. Call your medical centers and ask for this or Aphuerisis Center. This treatment is standard now for pancreatitis.I opted fro this instead of duct procedure. I am able to get these, one day of rest if I am not to far gone at time of procedure, and have cut pain meds to minimal. This treatment removes fat from the blood therefore removing the fats that are causing the pancrease to immobilize- that's why we have pain. I can actually feel the fluid and pockets leaving my pancreas during treatment. It takes about an hour and a half, sometimes more if I am really ill, to complete. This treatment has allowed me some quality of life. I am at least up on my feet alot of the time. whereas before I was bedridden for one year 8 full months. Did you know that during a pancreatitis attack the pancrease actually eats itself? Also, this along with insulin therapy helps keep the pancreas form burning out. It also eliminates stress on the pancrease. I am especially worried about you. Morphine? Really bad for you. Please inquiry about this treatment. There are few doctors who are aware of this. My specialist is an oncology and blood specialist. If I know what city you are in I'll try to find a Center for you to call. a
