Guest guest
I have a hot wax immersion set, and it felt real good when my hand and foot pain first started to affect my quality of life. I tried capsaicin and it burnt my skin like a bad sunburn. I also had deep heat ultra sound treatments last year at the physical therapist. That had a lasting effect of about a month. Without insurance, though, those physical therapy sessions cost $80 each! Then I tried the capsaicin again, but after applying oil, to see if diluting it would prevent the burn. It worked like a charm with no burn! Now I use it once or twice a month for maintenance. But, oh, please don't do the capsaicin treatments while you are getting hot wax dips! That might do more harm than good. Wait until you are finished with the weeks of therapy before you try the capsaicin; it stays on your hands, even after washing. It will burn your tongue if you bite your nails! The whole purpose of using olive oil before capsaicin first was to dilute the capsaicin, to prevent it from burning my skin, and second, because olive oil doesn't dry the skin as much as baby oil or mineral oil. (I have sensitive skin.) >Chelsea wrote: >I am going to try your olive oil massage and capsaicin remedy although I'll have to talk my husband into giving me the massage, but it's do-able. My doctor wants me to go to a physical therapist for hot wax immersion (hands, forearms, feet and ankles) and I'm really looking forward to trying that.
