Guest guest
Bennie and Others, My mom is still in ICU in Indianapolis. I have made 2 trips over to see her and stayed at a motel in order to do it. But needed to come home eventually to keep my job plus I physically cannot stay with her in the hospital for long unless they would pull up another bed for me beside her. I cannot sit for long at all. Even at home, I am on my back or side most of the day. Driving 4 hours over there is horrible and then another 4 hours home puts me in unbelievable pain for several days. So I am forced to leave her alone and trust the hospital staff to take good care of her. I know you said you would never do that to a family member but what choice do I have? I do feel horribly guilty about it. I can only pray that the nurses are as compassionate and caring as you. I would give anything not to suffer with chronic pain because not only does it hurt you but it hurts those you love.
