Guest guest
, ditto what Lori said! It is surprising how many doctors are afflicted with foot-in-mouth disease. And, those are the first doctors I get rid of in search of one that actually cares. You and I are around the same age, too, so I understand what an interruption this feels like. I've only been dealing with it for seven years or so, but chronic issues actually run in my family. I just needed a good accident to get everything kick-started. I now have three physicians (primary, chronic and rheumatoid) and a therapist that I rely on and have a strong rapport with. It wasn't easy, but I searched for sure. My back surgeon was excellent and tho everyone told me my orthopedic surgeon was the best, he has talent but is a putz. No other doctor that knows him disagrees when they ask. My point, though, is that the five of us work as a team. I make appointments just to chat with certain doctors just to check up. My primary doctor is kind of a hub, and my therapist and rheumatoid (who actually found the fibro) work closely with my chronic pain doctor. And my chronic pain doctor works with my primary. I'm tired of the God complex, I saw it with my grandparents that would do whatever the doctor said even when they didn't understand. Most times they couldn't even repeat what had happened and what the course of treatment was or what pills they were taking. And, if some asshole accused me of doing something I didn't, I'd not only search for someone else, but report him to faculty immediately. I have had the pleasure of doing this myself. You are a patient...not a customer. Please take care of yourself - and make sure your boyfriend takes care as well. OH! And, don't forget to laugh! It definitely beats crying...trust me!!!
