Guest guest
Connie, Wow, your situation sounds A LOT like mine. I also have arthritis in my spine and i have the low back, hip, buttock, leg and foot pain. I don't have the burning though. I don't know if this will help, but I am diagnosed with spondylolisthesis in my L-5 vertebrae (basically that vertebrae comes out of place and hits my other vertebrae) That is causing nerves to be pinched. I also have 3 bad disks and 2 are bulging. I also have neruopathy in my legs. So far that is what I've been diagnosed with. I'm being tested for inflammatory diseases too because I have wide-spread pain as well as joint pain in my hands, hips, and knees. I hope that helps a little bit. I'm not trying to diagnose you or anything, but that is whats going on with me. My doctors don't want to prescribe me narcotics though so I have to suffer without them. For pain they give me Tramadol 100mg 3x a day, Naproxen 500mg 2x a day and Neruontin 800mg 3x a day. My spine specialist temporarily prescribed me Lortab 5's every 8 hours as needed until my surgery. I'm having surgery to replace 3 disks and fuse those three vertebrae together. I'm really hoping it will help at least ONE of my pain problems. I have the same trouble with cooking meals, doing laundry, walking and doing general house work. It's funny that the things we hated to do at one point are the things we wish we could do when we have so much chronic pain. Sorry I wrote such a book. I always seem to do that. lol. I wish you all the best and I hope you can get some help. -Kayla Connie wrote: > I had a MRI showing minimal arthritis to my spine. I haven't had any other testing. I go to my PCP Tuesday and can't imagine what direction he will go in. I have lower back pain, horrible hip, buttock, severe leg pain in both legs and foot pain and burning. > > Can anyone share a light what may be going on with me? > I can't work, I can hardly take care of meals and my legs are so painful standing, walking a short distance is the most i can do, even on this pain regimin. Also, i have no insurance and can't get medicaid because of his income. Any words or thoughts would help me so much.
Guest guest
>I am worried about a pain med my pain specialist wants me to take. It is methadone. Hi Connie My psychiatrist handles my pain management, and he said that Methadone is the best, most affordable narcotic around. He is retired from the military and lives with chronic pain too, so he is very understanding. I have bipolar disorder, so it also helps for him to manage all of medication needs, so there aren't any conflicts. You mentioned Neurontin, have you tried Lyrica? I take it and like it much better for my neuropathy pain than Neurontin. Methadone, causes less problems like constipation that other narcotics, which is a plus. Who needs any more problems?
