Hi Kayla

I'm so sorry to hear to you are having a very hard time. Have you tried wearing

Yaktrax Traction Cleats for Snow and Ice on your shoes? Here is an

example:

You can buy a pair for thirty dollars or less. My daughter is prone to falls,

and has had success wearing them.

I don't know why your legs are weak, but will your doctor consider physical

therapy? This could be useful.

Wishing you the best. Be careful lifting the wheel chair. They do make lighters

weight ones, if necessary.

My heart goes out to you, Kayla. Many of the problems I am having now began

as minor inconveniences after falling. Please, if you cannot afford better

foot gear, consider getting salt for your walkway areas, to decrease your

chance of falling.

I don't know how bad the ice and snow are where you live, but I have found

that something as simple as ice cream or rock salt can help. It's better

than doing nothing, and I cannot imagine trying to walk with a cane on a

slick pavement or steps.

I like the idea of cleats, too. I haven't seen those here, because we only

get one or two short episodes of ice here, and I just use the salt as soon

as it looks like ice is going to be a problem.

Be safe, and keep warm. Bonnadel

Lowes and home depot for 18 dollars has these things that you strap on over your

shoes. they are cleats. they are economical and a big safety plus. just dont

walk in the house with them as it could ruin a wood floor. :)

Well, the rock salt worked well, but when I put ice cream on the walk I fell. I

had the ice cream to eat while I was down there, though. Just kidding! At least

I made myself laugh.

Hahaha I like the way you twisted that!

So much for people saying I have any sort of wisdom.

It's much more fun to be a wise cracker!

Laughter may not cure our ills, but it makes them easier to bear.

I can't believe you forgot to tell us what flavor the ice cream was!
