Moderator Note: Walmart sells Hugo brand rollating (wheeled) walkers with

brakes and seat for $130. Hugo makes an excellent walker.

wheelchair. So I ask why he didn't and she told me because most people aren't

that disabled before surgery. Does that make any sense to you? It doesn't to me!

Kayla,

The wheeled walker has a seat on it and basket so you can walk and rest. I

don't think I would like wheeling a chair and it places

more stress on the body.

I know the local home health stores will rent month by month also and also some

home health agency's lend them out as I donated

my home health supplies to one.

You can always put a aid on Craigslist, it seems as everyone reads it and they

don't charge to post. Also call 211 for local resources. Bennie

Walgreen's will routinely sell these chairs for $99.00 if you live close to

one.  Also we have a Senior Services in our town.  I don't know how else to say

this, but when someone dies, often their relatives do not know what to do with

these type of items and they will offer them to a Senior Services or that type

of place. Also they will ask the funeral home director if he knows of anyone

needing any of that equipment (one of my sons is a funeral director). This is

another way of getting one.

I personally have a wheeled walker with a seat and I love it! I never go

anywhere without it. I also have the old fashioned kind but the one with a seat

is so much easier to move. I did receive it from a lady who died. I could not go

to a store without a eclectic cart until I got that. I will never forget the

first day my daughter who was 16 at the time and I were able to go shopping for

the first time in 4 years together. Before then I would sit in the car and she

would go in the stores and we would talk by cell phones. She would try things

on describe it to me and we would talk about the price, how they looked, etc..

We were so excited when I could go in the stores without the carts.  Cell phones

were history! Gwen
