If he just drops you it's patient abandonment, and he risks getting in trouble from the medical board. The American Pain Foundation is an advocacy group and has some good information. http://www.painfoundation.org/learn/resources/finding-care/your-pain-your-rights\ ..html I think it said you were in Connecticut, if so this is where to file a complaint against a doctor. http://www.ct.gov/dph/cwp/view.asp?a=3121 & q=387678 & dphNav_GID=1821 & dphNav=| A little about me, I've been a pain advocate for many years. I started about 10 years ago with the American Society for Action on Pain, ASAP. It was run by Skip Baker. Things were different then, and we had a secret list of doctors willing to treat pain. We helped a lot of patients before it was shut down. I'm a chronic pain patient, and have been working to get medical marijuana here in Arizona. I'm also a speaker for a national law enforcement group, LEAP, or Law Enforcement Against Prohibition. I was responsible for Arizona's first pain treatment guidelines after a four part article in the Kingman newspaper. I've been fighting for patients rights for a long time, and hope I can help here sometimes. Jay Fleming
