Guest guest
Bennie, I am sorry i abbreviate DD but its not DDD degenerative disc disease but dercums disease. I most defiantly have something funky with my immune system. It's interesting cause I never get normal illness's. I.e I haven't had a cold in years. Even with all of the drugs to knock out my immune system it still attacks me and everything else thrown its way. Have you tried savella which is being touted as the new fibro drug? For some unknown reason, and i will just call it luck, I haven't had any problems getting adequate pain relief. My first doc went a little nuts and went to a seminar, read a book, and made me get the book and read it. Basically, the book stated that if you tell yourself you don't have pain you won't. I, opted to switch docs at that time. I explained all of this to the new doc. What I didn't know at the time, and actually just learned this past year in Mexico while on vacation when I ran into some people who were business partnered with my old doc, who were from my city. Anyway, the doc was diagnosed with MS and no longer practices medicine, now she runs a diet business that sells protein shakes and meal replacement bars. The doc turned against western medicine all together. I have heard horror stories from others who cannot get adequate medical care. I, for a while thought it was my doc, until I heard patients in the waiting room talking about how the doc doesn't believe in break thru meds etc and refuses to prescribe them. my experience with the same doc was polar opposite. I realize that the treatment plans are very different. When I just had the dx of fibro all i heard was that the docs believed that narcotics were inappropriate for the treatment of fibro. You mention fibro occurring after a trauma, yes that makes sense, around that time period not only did I have three surgeries (bilateral carpal tunnel, ulnar tunnel right, ulnar tunnel left) and was hit by 5 other cars on the high way.
