Guest guest
, My Rheumy told me that he couldn't prescribe RA meds for me unless I tested positive. I know several people who don't test positive for RA but take the meds and get relief from them. If you do decide to take the meds, let us know how it goes please. I'm really interested in this. I know my swelling/aching joints are not Fibro (several Rheumys have alluded to this)! I have Fibro too and it feels totally different. Its not that I want to have RA, I just don't want any damage being done to the joints that could have been prevented. Its scary to thinkĀ about. Somedays my hips hurts so badly I can't get out of a chair and my wrists are the worst, can't use them at all sometimes. Did the prednesone not work for you? I just got a steroid shot for calcium deposits in shoulders and it always helps my achy joints for a short period of time and then it seems to get worse. Good luck , Caitlin Personally I am interested because I am in a similar situation. I have all of the symptoms of RA and my tests come back negative. Now that I am off of prednisone my rheumatologist may try one of the basic RA drugs with me. I am more than a little nervous about that. Let me know how things turn out.
