Guest guest
I have just lived through the most unberable week of pain for me on over 10 years. None of my usual drugs even made a dent in it and I was forced to ge to the ER for relief. They hooked me up to an IV of Toradol 30 mg which usually works and sort of resets my pain levels but the relief didnt last. I awoke the next day still in so much pain. I went to see my neurologist as he prescribes pain and Migraine medications for me.He gave me a prescription for Morphine Sulftae 15 mg. but I am afraid to take it. My pain seems to have died down and I associate morphine with my mom dying. She dies of cancer when I was 12 yrs old and she took morphine for the terrible pain she had from cancer. I was freaked out enough that I went to the Gynecologist for tests as mom died of ovarian cancer and it has always haunted me that I will too. I have go for a bunch of tests now. I was tested for the genes that put you at higher risk for Ovarian and breast cancer and luckily I dont have them and should feel reassured that my risk isnt higher than anyone elses but the childhood trauma of her death still lingers on inside my head. The other reason I am afraid of the morphine is because I dont see how I can take it on top of everything else I already take, especially since the pain has decreased now. I have been taking some Toradol pills for a week now too since the ER visit but I have been told I cant take more than a week of that. Can anyone tell me in their experience if 15 mg of Morphine is a really small/medium/large dose and if they would take it for an episode or continue on with it when they were already taking Tramadol 50 mg, ultram er 300 mg. amytriptiline 125 mg., anafranil 25 mg,and tylenol 3-4 grams per day. a
