If I leave home for awhile, will one of my kids have a crisis. I want to make an appointment with my pcd, and see if he has something that will help me to relax before I end up in a loony bin. somehow I feel even my prayers don`t work at all. Am I praying wrong. > R. , I am so happy for you! I know how amazing 'small' things you can do are. As for worrying, I think it is fine to check with your doctor (?I don't know what a pcd is). There are anti-anxiety medications that can definitely help. I had to get off of a medication to begin to stop my anxiety (I was on Wellbutrin and it was making me tremendously anxious). However, there are many things that can help worrying and anxiety: Practice being fully in the present moment. Sensually notice things, the temperature, smells, etc. Learning how to 'belly breathe,' deeply from the diaphram can help. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) changed my life with the skills I learned. In the meantime, rest assured your prayers are being heard. The feelings you are dealing with may make them seem like they are not, but feelings are not facts. Good luck with the everything, J. Guest guest
, I've been having this problem as well and it seemed to just keep getting worse. I think when we are in pain for a long period of time our bodies go into fight or flight mode, which is constant and exhausting! It's almost like our brains get programmed to worry from years of it and its hard to turn off. I get really bad anxiety before doing anything social (or anything else really) and I used to be the most social person I know. I'm not sure if the pain medications make anxiety worse or not. I always hated taking nerve type meds like Xanax or Valium but man, when you need them they sure come in handy! I can usually just take them for short spurts and it seems to work for awhile. Then it creeps back in. I have some friends who takes Xanax everyday and they can't remember a thing. That is one reason I don't want to take it daily. Don't need any help in that department(not remembering)! So I struggle with the need for it versus the side effects and becoming dependant on it. Bummer. I've always been one to meditate and do stretch yoga but not even that is working these days. I hope you can find some peace from your worries. Good luck and take care. Caitlin My problem is, I still freeze up with worry. Will something go wrong with the pump? If I leave home for awhile, will one of my kids have a crisis and I won`t be around for them, If I spend a couple of dollars on myself, will I cause us to go broke? Man, I`m telling you, if there is nothing to worry about, I will find something, that`s for sure. I`m scared to leave my yard, or sometimes even go outside.
