Guest guest
I got very bad dry mouth coupled with a hit to the trigeminal nerve in face during a root canal. The combination left me with a condition called " burning mouth syndrome " which is just what it sounds like. My mouth feels scalded 24/7 like I drank boiling coffee and overheated pizza cheese. Yes, add that to my wrecked back, and a failed laminectomy, and you have a very miserable lady. My specialist that treats this burning mouth prescribes medication that produces saliva. It helps so much with the burning when I have enough saliva. It was one of the reasons I'm trying the pump - I want all oral meds out of my system asap to try to regain saliva. Anyway, its true that our teeth suffer from lack of saliva. If you have this and want to ask your doctor about treating it, the two I take to produce saliva are: Exovac and pilocarpine. They both produce saliva quicky. Anne in TX
