Guest guest
I had an accident today. I started down a flight of steps from my daughter's apartment over a garage. I was packing a two year old grandson with my left arm. It was raining hard. I should have had a hand on the rail. My foot slipped off the front of the second step down. I landed on the right side of my back, making sure I was between the boy and the fall. He is fine. He was shook up and worried about me. There are no broken bones and no blood in my urine. I am moving very slowly though and am afraid to take pain meds more than aspirin. I am a light weight and want to stay awake in case my wife needs something. She is the reason I joined this group. I have told other care-takers that they have to take care of themselves if they want to be able to keep taking care of anyone else. I wish I had thought of that and been more careful on those steps. Please remind those who help you to stay as healthy as they can, if not for themselves then for you. We both would have had to get help from others if my fall had been worse.
