Guest guest
, A year ago this May, my daughter also had bi-lateral choanal atresia repair. She was in the hospital for 3 days with no complications post-op. She only took tylenol with codeine for pain, although she doesnt usually respond to pain. The stents stayed in for 8 weeks and then they were taken out. She had this past Fall choanal dilation which is not uncommon after having bi-lateral correction. We use saline in her nose 2 times daily. This was actually the easiest of all her surgeries. Best of luck to you and your daughter on the 14th, keep us posted on her progress Locke, Kiara's(13) mom --- howeellen wrote: > > melissa ive used fentinal its like morphine but > gentler i used to be > a raging terror when they had me on morphine mum > says taht i threw a > doll at grandma once so ever since theyve had me on > fentinal which is > a good drug more softer and easier also they have > given me just > liquid digisic when i havent needed the machine ad > of course the > usual pandadle neurifin thig hope this helps love to > you and sarah > ellen howe > > > > Dr Cotton has agreed to do Sara's atresia repair > on the 14th of > this > > month in coordination with the laser surgery. > This is great news. > > She really needs it done. Guest guest
dr cotton did erikas 5th coanal atresia repair, he went through the palate, no one else did. unfortunately, erika had to have it done 2 more times after that. it was not a great expereicne for us, but necesary. the stents used to stick out of the nose, but by the time dr cotton did it (4 yrs ago) they started keeping them shorter, and inside, when erika first had hers done they stuck out 1/2 mm, she looked like miss piggy. they have come a long way, thank god. the first few days it is quite uncorfortbale, but gets better. dont hesitate to use pain management. good luck cathie, mom to erika
