Guest guest
I am pleased to invite you to join 911Lifeline -- a Yahoo Group created to serve the public safety community. It is specifically intended to provide an information, support, and discussion forum for people employed as 9-1-1 telecommunicators, PSAP and dispatch center managers, and 9-1-1 trainers. Non-dispatch members of public safety agencies, the general public who share an interest in 9-1-1, and individuals representing vendors and for-profit organization are also welcome. The name of the group reflects the essence of what 9-1-1 is -- a lifeline for the public and the first responders who protect them. The demands of our profession are many and often critical in terms of saving lives. Accordingly, the requirements for entry are high. Many newcomers have difficulty reaching the necessary proficiency levels and are frequently " thrown into " the fray, or become frustrated and quit. The members of 911Lifeline are dedicated to helping new entrants to this profession deal with this pressure. If you are new and want to find a mentor to help you through the process, or if you are an experienced professional and want to help those entering the profession, this may be the right forum for you. 911Lifeline are committed to the development and maintenance of reference material to help you in your work. Most of us are considered by the people we work with and for to be " the answer grape. " In the database and file sections of the group's home page, you will find a variety of ever-changing materials to help you find those answers. No matter what the question, someone has already discovered the answer. 911Lifeline is intended to help put the two together. Finally, 911Lifeline helps enable its members to have fun. Along with our police, fire, and EMS brothers and sisters, we frequently deal with human tragedy, and the darker side of life. 911Lifeline enables its members to support one another in those instances and to laugh at the comedy we find in life and in ourselves. One way to do that is to share -- the good and the bad. If you would like to be a part of this community, please join the group at <http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/911Lifeline/>http://health.groups.yahoo.co\ m/group/911Lifeline/ *************************** A special note to 911Console Members. The founders regret the circumstances which led to this post and many others in the last few weeks. As was said on numerous occasions by several members, there was no great desire to start another group except to afford those unable to fully participate in 911console the opportunity to share with others. However, we have taken the opportunity to expand the scope of the enormous service 911Console has brought to its membership, and the public. This invitation is solely to offer the opportunity for those who wish to share fully in the benefits of the group while still honoring the traditions of 911Console, and extending its legacy of benefit to the 9-1-1 community. We ask that you do not see us as a competition, but as another resource to enable you to achieve your best in meeting the incredible demands placed on the 9-1-1 professional.
