Suzi;

You need a sleeping pill to at least get a few nights sleep to get rested " REM

sleep " which helps with the Fibro.

Otherwise, you will just have the broken sleep sleep cycles and my doctors know

when I call and say I need a weeks worth so I did not have a fibro trigger I

need the sleep.

For me, keeping my sleep cycles have to stay on balance of I am worthless and it

is very noticeable when I am not. Restoril is good for fibro patients and sleep

cycles.

Good Luck

Hi Suzi

Have you ever had a sleep evaluation study done? Many people have sleep apnea,

or other problems that cause them to wake up multiple times during the night.

If that isn't a problem, try taking a hot bath before bedtime. Be sure you have

a comfortable mattress. A memory foam mattress topper makes my bed much more

comfortable.

A topper is nice, because it's not too expensive, and can be thrown away if it

becomes stained. The thicker the better too. Be sure to buy it at a store

accepts returns if you don't like it.

My electric blanket helps too. I can't stand to get in a cold bed, even if it

has flannel sheets.

Can you try scheduling your Tramadol for bedtime, or at least take some

ibuprofen? It's odd for Gabapentin to cause insomnia, but we all respond

differently to medications.

Trazadone, is a mild antidepressant that is often helpful for sleep.

Good luck

I have a 4 " memory foam on my bed. Trying to sleep on a regular

mattress was killing me.

Oh yes, I can take the Tramadol at bed time. I'm not on a scheduled time

to take it. Doc knows that I'm only going to take it when the pain has gotten

the best of me.

Hi Suzi

Pain medication is much more affective if you take it before the pain becomes

unbearable. Always keep ahead of your pain. IE if you know it causes you

increased pain when you buy groceries, take something for pain before you leave

home.
