Guest guest
All: I just went for a consultation Friday with a doctor who does fibromyagia, and botox and Racz procedure to release spasm in the piriformis. She also uses Botox and I asked her to also do my eyes and corners of my mouth, lol. She asked me " How have you dealt with this, without going crazy and why has your pain doctor not done something for you ? " I almost cried, I had researched her and the journal articles she had written and developed. I asked her if I was on too much opiates and she said NO, anyone should be able to touch my spasm and know I am not a drug seeker but in severe pain " My appointment was at 4:00 and she stayed with me until 6:30. I asked her, " Will you be my doctor " She said " Definitely, you deserve to be out of pain " She says " I know you will be 50 per cent better releasing this muscle spasm and then we will deal with what we see going on in there. I told her about my shingles twice in a row for two months along the rt. hip I was hurting and she said, " That is your body stating it can't stand the pain ! " My nurse practitioner said it was my emotional stress. My new doctor knows of the clinic I went to and how it has become a chain asking all the pain management doctors to join it. I have not seen my doctor for two years just a nurse practitioner and I had to have the receptionist call the doctor to approve if he would see me as I was having problems with the nurse practitioner making rude remarks. It never felt so good to call my prior pain management clinic and state that I could not make my appointment today as I saw a doctor on Friday that is going to take over my care and I have to have outpatient Wednesday to release muscle spasm that has been causing me pain for over a year and the nurse practitioner would only give me two muscle relaxants a day. she also said I was on large doses of Morphine when this doctor said it was not enough for the pain I was allowed to endure and also my break thru meds had not been refilled when they were supposed to, so I won't be coming in for you to count my pills to see if I take too many. I was polite, factual, and everything was documented in my chart files. So changing pain doctors for me was a good thing. I make my husband go with me and he has said I have needed to quit a long time because of the rude remarks. I found our my nurse practitioner will no longer be there after April, wonder why? Wish me luck on Wed Bennie
