I can not carry anything! and I use a walker on bad days and a cane on good ones. It wasn't a good experience! :-( > Millie, I know they do more then three levels but most doctors refused more than two levels because they do not want failures. In scoloisis they do more levels, but I had DDD. I had the three levels and I was being stuck with epidurals over twenty times and they never did a discogram and the protocal is three sticks only and give up as it is not working. When I had my discogram, three levels of my lower lumbar was gone, they were disinergrated with fissures and just gone and I had bone on bone and needed the BAK cages between with instrumentation. So I have been very careful and I was okay from the back but I have heard front and back gives a better result so it is so confusing sometimes. I woke up from my surgery okay and pain gone and ale to do my exercises and had home physical therapy program. I hope you can get some relief and a better recovery We are watching my thoracic vertabrae on top of my istrumentation rods, I fell year before last, flat on my back, taking the dogs out on wet grass and when the leashes came all the way out, it caused me to jolt and slid on the grass. flat on my back. People talk about " knocking the wind out " I experinced that and a year later, a doctor told me I had a healed T-9 fracture. So < please take care of your back and encourage your friend to do so also. Need to take your vitamins and be in good health before your surgery.
