Hi And Welcome!

I had a 3 level/360 fusion with instrumentation on November of 07. It took me

over a year to know if the surgery had worked, that is normal with multi-level

lumbar fusions. I can tell you to please, please do your research about this

surgery! If I knew then, what I know now, I would have NEVER, EVER had the

surgery!

The surgery made my pain 100 times worst. I am in intractable pain 24/7-365. I

lost my job and had to go on social security disability, consequently lost my

home too.

Multi-level fusions have about a 35% chance of success, not very high if you ask

me! I did my surgery with one of the best surgeons in the States, so it had

nothing to do with the surgeon.

Fusions don't always take away the pain, so do your research! Go for several

opinions and ask your Doctor's to show you instances were patients were doing

better after multi-level fusions.

Think about this long and hard, I sure hope that I would have.

Take care,

Millie

He said the surgery should bring my pain level down to a 2 or 3 or 4 and I just

this year if I can hold out that long.
