Guest guest
Hello all. If anyone has any ideas about what is going on with my hip, right or wrong, I would love to hear them. I am at my wits-end with this pain, and I have been sleeping all propped up like I am in a lounge chair. I want to lie down and get comfortable, but any lying down just causes the pain to start. I have been to my primary doctor, another family practitioner, 2 physical medicine doctors, and my pain management doctor. I am now doing physical therapy. I have tried, stretching, massage, muscle creams and lotions, trigger point injections, muscle relaxants, steriod injections, exercising, TENS unit, icing, and heat and nothing helps or seems to make any difference. None of the doctors I have seen have been able to diagnose my hip pain. All the experts on the subject are baffled by it, and I was wondering if anyone here could give their two cents. I know that you may not be a medical expert or have any medical training, but I just need something to google, or research to see if I can figure anything out. I haven't been able to get help, and I haven't been able to get any information. This pain started in November, 2009 and has continued ever since. There was no injury or incident, or cause for the pain that I can think of. It just kinda started one day. Here is the issue I am having. Only while standing or lying down I have a pain in my hip joint. It is not the bursas which have been poked and prodded at each turn, and it does not seem to be sciatica. The pain is only deep into the joint, way inside of the piriformis, and gluteas muscles. Perhaps near the quadratus femoris or the obturators. The xrays are normal, the bone scan showed no abnormalities, and no inflammation. The pain feels like someone is taking a pair of pliers and pinching as hard as they can, right where my femur meets my pelvis, or right where my thigh connects to my hip. The level of the pain is if you can imagine someone pinching the tender inside of your forearm with pliers. It really hurts. It doesn't hurt when I sit. It doesn't hurt when I move. Neither stairs, nor jogging, nor squatting causes any pain. It only hurts when standing or lying down. And, the pain starts almost immediately when standing or lying. A few moments after walking or sitting, the pain subsides most of the times. The problem is the standing, well, and the sleeping. Since I'm in pain when I stand it seems like I stand everywhere; the elevator, the grocery line, the post office, just everywhere. And, I can't sleep properly so I don't feel like I get a good solid night's rest. If anyone has any ideas, right or wrong, I would love to hear them. I am at my wits-end with this pain, and I have been sleeping all propped up like I am in a lounge chair. I want to lie down and get comfortable, but any lying down just causes the pain to start. Once the pain starts, it just lasts and lasts until it is done. I am open to anything I can google to try to figure this thing out. Thank you in advance.
