The pain is still there but it's at a level that I can handle. > - Sciatic pain arises from inflammation that squeezes the sciatic nerve. By definition, heat would make sciatic nerve compression worse because heat increases inflammation. Ice would be the better, safer treatement. Or perhaps you're experiencing muscle spasms, which would be helped by moist heat. They can be just as (if not more!) excruciating than true sciatic nerve pain, so I'm not suggesting you didn't have severe pain. I just wonder about the accuracy of the diagnosis you've been given. Also, remember that sciatica is just a symptom, not a condition. What's the actual underlying condition causing this pain? Is it a bulging disc? In this case, heat would be bad, but ice would be good. Is it spinal stenosis? Same thing with heat/ice. Do you have an actual diagnosis, or just a description of your symptom? It would be beneficial to know the cause so that you can apply the safest treatment. Cheryl in AZ Moderator
Guest guest
OUCH!! You know it's going to be a bad day when you wake up in severe pain and can't walk. That has happened more than once to me.I hope you have a better morning tomorrow. Blessed be, Ms.Katurah > Oconnell wrote: >I awoke this morning with the worst pain I ever felt. Guest guest
I have sciatica that wakes me up in the middle of the night and is hell in the morning too. Heat works for me too. I can't wait until my facet injections on the 7th. It helps my sciatica pain for a couple months. S >/NY wrote: >I awoke this morning with the worst pain I ever felt.
