The told me this too, but I tried to stubborn it out. I was hoping it

was my " regular " headache that just wouldn't let up. By the time my

husband made me call, I was too out of it to decide for myself.

My end result was that they did manage to free up my nerve, which was

the cause of the intractable pain. The surgeon told me upfront that the

surgery might not cure my long-term severe neck pain, and he was right.

I'm very glad he didn't give me false hope!

One thing they mentioned after the myelogram was that the nerve above

the one causing so much pain didn't transimit the dye at all. The

surgeon said he didn't want to operate on both, fusing me " at such a

young age " . Does that make any sense to you?

I still have all types of symptoms and pains that could be either

neurological or spinal. I still haven't found a doc that can tell me

whether it's from the neuro-Lyme infection or whether it's a spinal

problem, or something else altogether. They all focus on their

specialty and from what I see, a Lyme Specialist tends to blame even

ingrown toenails on Lyme. (We don't have Lyme specialists here in

Oregon. Not enough cases, I guess.)

Anyway, you're a trooper! And I thank you for sharing your trials and

victories with us. You're a good source of information and a good

motivator!
