Guest guest
Jane, this is always the worst time of year for those of us who aren't close with family and want the relationships to work well, or we just don't have family at all. Your son is on a self destructive path but you shouldn't let him drag you along like that. Are you able to get help through your mental health department in your county? Many times they have resources to help with people who don't have a support system. I've met many women who are left alone but reached out for the help. The main goal is to be as independent as each of us can be. Sometimes, just knowing there's someone to call eases the stress. Our children give us the greatest joys and sometimes the greatest worries. Comes with the territory. My parents could tell you all about it if they were alive. I can't live alone and I can't count on him to help me.
