The problem is arthritic growth around an old cervical fusion at C6 and C7. Until recently, the pain occurred mainly around my neck, with occasional more-minor problems into my left shoulder and arm. While going through various neck pain treatment possibilities over the years, Hello Joe, My name is and I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. I injured my neck in 1995 and it still is a pain in the A%#. Whenever the neck begins to hurt the shoulder and arm I immediately put ice on my neck right on the troubled vertabrea. I keep it there for twenty minutes, but no longer as that may freeze the neck. I have to use it on my neck every night just to fall asleep, my arms are constantly on " pins and Needles " If you haven't tried the ice, try it,you may be surprised at how quickly it works. /New York
