Get Leather chairs. We had cloth for years and they

stunk. We have had leather for a year and they dont

smell and are easy to clean.

Fabric chairs at our center, too. I sure don't miss them. With only 8 of

us total and 2 chairs, we were all very hygenic and body conscious, but

after a frequent 16 hour shift, who's not going to feel a little

less-than-fresh? Especially when no one has given you a break and you've

had to take a hand held into the restroom built into dispatch. The

temperature often fluctuates wildly in there as well. So I can tell you, a

LOT of Lysol and Febreeze were used on those chairs. Professionally

cleaned - what a joke. One of us had a portable steam cleaner for spots on

carpets and brought it in to clean and sanitize the chairs, but could only

do that when one person was working for several shifts instead of two to let

the chair dry. Unless they wanted to move the chair to another room and use

a hair dryer and risk getting caught moving dispatch furniture. So

basically, it was an after 03:00 job on Sat. morn and then after 15:00 on

Sat. if the chair was still wet, garbage bag upholstery til it dried. Need

I say that our department considered dispatch the part of the totem pole

that's in the ground.

Hi ,

We spray them quite heavily with a Lysol type spray. It seems to have

worked, I haven't heard any complaints lately.

Subject: STINKY CHAIRS

We purchased Herman Aeron Chairs that are used ina 24 hr center. We

have a few that seem to have an odor to them, no different that we have

experienced with Cloth/foam cushions. We have tried deodorizer sprays to no

avail. Is anyone else experiencing this and have a remedy?

Thanks
