Neurontin and weight gain

The weight gain was why I stopped taking gabapentin (Neurontin) a couple years

ago. Otherwise, it gave me relief. Topamax usually causes weight loss but also

has the side effect of causing kidney stones for some people. I have just one

kidney so can't risk a blockage.

Everywhere I turn there are reasons why I can't get relief and still live a

decent life. I haven't been able to lose the weight and I went from 147 to 170

and here I stay. I did have my thyroid removed as well as my thymus and am on a

correct dose of synthroid. I can ride a bike for a good distance, but I sure do

suffer days after.

I have osteoarthritis with nerve compressions in my neck along with ruptured

discs and a few fractured vertebra in my mid and lower back. Never had back

surgery and won't unless it's an emergency. I also have fibromyalgia and

damage to other joints.

There's no one medication that works on everything and I so wish that I didn't

have to take any prescription meds. Migraines are returning too and no meds for

those. Just sucks with this nice weather and all the desire to get outside and

enjoy it.
