I'd never been depressed. Hi , I am so sorry for your situation. Unfortunately; I've been where you are both healthwise and lawsuit wise. Although I suffer from Fibromyalgia, arthritis in neck, shoulders, back, depression, and most recently, debilitating asthma (just keeps getting better!) my initial injury was caused by a car accident. It took almost 4 years to settle and that was just an initial payment. The best advice I can give to you, is be prepared to be patient, (hard to do when you're a wife and Mom). Get a Bulldog attorney who specializes in cases like yours. You may want to apply for Disability which is a whole 'nother ballgame. Most of all, keep the faith and don't give up. Be prepared to face setbacks and don't give up. Good luck and God Bless, Robbie
Guest guest
Yes Robbie, I am seeing how this will be drawn out. It's really made me understand the term " Pain and Suffering, Emotional Distress " . My goodness I can't believe how cruel the defense attorney was at my deposition. She asked if I was selling my medicine, and also if I was an addict. It was very hurtful. I've never been to rehab, and was on NO medicines before this. SO, I can see what route they've decided to take: forget who's at fault, they only need to convince 5 out of 6 jurors that I'm a money hungry junkie. . I chose to have the trial in the county system because Circuit court handles criminal as well, therefore the wait for a trial date was 3 years. Now in County it's supposed to be 1 year. There's a cap on how much you can sue for, but I couldn't bear to wait 3 years to even get this going. They haven't done any other depositions besides mine, my husbands, and like 2 people who work for them. The whole thing has been a slam on my character. I hate it! I guess you're right though, I'll have to expect to watch them drag it out as long as possible to get me to drop it I think. But see I'm uninsured. While I would LOVE to not deal with this, I have no choice if I want treatment. They suck. I hope your trial/settlement is over. I haven't done Mediation yet, but I know they won't settle. Their attorney sent mine an offer within 2 weeks of them being served. On it there was a post-it note that said " Tell her we'll give her $1k if she'll go away " . Wow. . Just my MRI was 5k. My law firm has represented suits against this hospital Corp before, which gives me a little more confidence. > Hi , I am so sorry for your situation. Have anyone here have this problem. Star, I am not a Doctor, but can only tell of my experience after a surgery. I had scar tissue that caused pain. In gall bladder surgery your bile duct empties your bile in your stomach. Some complications of the bile duct scarring or flap to bile duct not opening to empty might cause pressure. I am not saying this is what is happening to you but you need to call your Doctor and by checked out. They can do a ultrasound or CT and make sure your bile duct is emptying, if scarring is present, or other things that may be happening. Please get it checked, it is not worth letting it go and let us know what is happening. Welcome to our group and glad you are here and hope you find out what this is.
