Guest guest
They're pretty consistent in the high moderate range. It looks like about 100 on those hard to read color sticks. Always a dark rose. ne
Guest guest
Yep, I agree, I would never just take someone's meal plan and use even if ratio was right. Okay, okay, I might use it once while waiting for dietican to get back to me on ours, cuz at least I know the ratio is right rfsweetpea@... wrote: I've been told by my dietician never to follow someone else's numbers in a plan because their child can be very different. Their ratio may be same but child may be more active or less active than yours & then it affects calories & gaining too much weight is a no no because then keytones are too low. She says her plans are different for every single child she deals with. Should I stay with this instruction? It's awfully tempting to pull a meal off here. Actually, she did say I could give her the ingredients in a meal I see on here but let her do the numbers. ne
Guest guest
Here's an example of a typical day for Katera..... she's on a 2.3:1 ratio and 930 calories and 18 gms of protein a day. Breakfast: (almost every day .... the same thing) Pumpkin Custard- 16 gms cream cheese, 16 gms coconut milk, 32 gms egg, 62 gms canned pumpkin, 9 gms oil (coconut and olive), 10 gms butter .... with cinnamon and stevia (sweetener). Lunch: 58 gms avacado, 21 gms raw tomato, 6 gms butter... mashed together with a tidge of salt.... 17 gms of cheddar cheese..... "Pudding" of 27 gms coconut milk mixed with 4 gms of flax oil, sweetened with stevia. Dinner: 13 gms chicken (cut in very small bits), 140 gms of zucchini, 8 gms of raw tomato, 11 gms of butter (I mash all this together... Katera can't chew very well).... served with another "pudding" of 33 gms of coconut milk mixed with 13 gms of oil (walnut and sunflower, usually) and sweetened with stevia. Guest guest
I've done 4 meals a day.... that works well.... we're back to 3 a day right now. I think your schedule looks good as long as your child seems to be doing fine with that. You have consistent ketones? Patti Re: Please Post Your Daily Menu Do most of you do more than 3 meals a day? Does it seem to work better for your child when you split them up? Less hungry? Better keytones? I've been doing four. BF at 8 am, lunch 12, half dinner 5, & other half 9pm. I was wondering if I should split another meal or change my times.ne
Guest guest
Tyler is on 2300 calories a day at a 3:1 ratio. His meals are 533 each and snacks are 233 each. Here are a few samples: Ham Meal: 50g Healthy Choice Ham (with <1g carb) (we roll this up for little ham rolls) 20g Heavy whipping cream (plus sweetener and vanilla), with 19g Butter and 15g Canola Oil (we heat this up for a shake) 22g Kraft Medium Cheddar cheese (regular kind - not low fat) 12g iceberg lettuce 10g Kraft Ranch Dressing (dips lettuce in this) 15g Claussen Pickle (he likes this instead of 5g Group B Veggie) Taco Salad Meal: 9g " Just the Cheese " chips - broken into pieces 32g 93% lean hamburger 8g regular sour cream 10g Kraft regular shredded cheddar cheese 12g iceberg lettuce 12g Group B vegetable (we put in tomato) 30g heavy whipping cream, mixed with 15g canola oil and 14g butter - with sweetener and vanilla. Fry up the hambuger and mix it will all the other ingredients. Snacks: 34g Celery 17g Butter 10g Skippy Peanut Butter (melt the butter and mix the peanut butter in with it - tastes like butterscotch - and dip the celery in it or eat separately) Snack: 28g Healthy Choice Ham 35g Ranch Dressing 20g Iceberg Lettuce Snack: 12g Pineapple (make sure it's fresh or canned in it's own juice) 66g Heavy Whipping Cream Add a little sweetener and vanilla to the cream, and whip it up a bit. Tyler likes me to freeze his whipped cream and pineapple together a bit for a kind of ice cream. Snack: 150g Sugar free jello 64g Heavy Whipping Cream (again with sweetener and vanilla, whipped up and eat with the jello) ---- Hope these are some things you can use! Guest guest
Gail, A couple of more things... Yes, I am familiar with Netrition. Having been doing this for myself for a month before I started Hannah was extremely helpful. You may want to check out Carb Solutions bars. I think they are much tastier than Atkins, and they are cheaper. The Chocolate Peanut Butter, Chocolate Cappuccino and Toffe Hazlenut (something like that) are very good. BEWARE!! The Chocolate Fudge Almond is one of the worst things I ever put in my mouth in my life. I " innocently " left one cut up on the counter and said nothing (I didn't want to lead anybody's opinion) and the rest of my family who tried it said they wouldn't give it to a dog!!! I get them at both Costco and Sam's and they should cost slightly over $1 a piece. Also, do you know of DaVinci syrups? They are like the Atkins syrups, cheaper, and I believe, a lot better. They come in 32 flavors. They are also sold at Netrition (best price that I know on online). You can pick up stray bottles at TJ Maxx and Marshalls. They are cheaper there. I use them with cream as a flavored drink, in shakes, to flavor pancakes, etc. I am new to them, but I think the possibilites are endless. You may want to look at Atkindsfriends.com and go to their bulletin board for more cooking or product ideas. I say this with caution. It is a great resource, but I know it is easy to get buried in resources and have no time left to live!! Again, thanks for all of your help. I cannot tell you how great this is!! > > To give some of us newcomers ideas, will you please post a daily > menu > > or two. > > > > I as much interested in exact measurements as I am just ideas on > how > > to make a menu work. > > > > Thank you. Guest guest
Gail, one more thing I forgot to mention. GNC has Atkins shakes and the Bake Mix at buy one get one free, although I think it ends today. > > To give some of us newcomers ideas, will you please post a daily > menu > > or two. > > > > I as much interested in exact measurements as I am just ideas on > how > > to make a menu work. > > > > Thank you. Guest guest
You can use these meals (if I am correct) but you will have to change the numbers to go with your ratio and calorie intake of the child per day etc. You cant just copy meals found here as the numbers will probably be different for your child. You could print them out and take them to your dietician and she could work the numbers for your child's meal plan. I have done that before- with the keto-mousse at christmas and it was great to see Mike enjoying dessert like everyone else (we had a dessert with choc pudding so it pretty much looked the same - even my girls liked it but I didnt let them have too much as it is quite high in fat) Jenn rfsweetpea@... wrote: I've been told by my dietician never to follow someone else's numbers in a plan because their child can be very different.
