You should be able to get your script at least 5 days before you run out of the

medication, next time as soon as you see that you have about 4 to 5 days of

pills left, call your Doctor's office and ask for a refill, and then follow up

with them and with the pharmacy to make sure that the refill was called in.

I can not get refills, since my meds are all Schedule II, I have to go see my

Doc and get a paper script, but for my other meds that are not schedule II, I

can call 5 to 6 days in advance for the refills and they will refill them for

me.

I always, always follow up! I feel that is my responsibility as the one that

needs the meds to follow up and make sure that they do what they are supposed to

do.

Even for my Schedule II medicines, I have to call 3 or 4 days ahead of time

and let the doctor's office know that I am coming in to pick up the refill.

Then I call sometimes that very day and say I'm on my way to get the script.

For other drugs we have to call in too but the office just calls those into the

pharmacies. Oh, yes and you always have to use the same pharmacy.

There's a sign posted in every room of the clinic stating there will be no

exceptions to their policy, so I guess everyone knows from the beginning that

this is how this place operates.

I've never had a problem and the one time I was going to be out of town, they

did allow me to pick up a script a day early. This was after going there for a

year so I think they knew I wasn't trying to pull a fast one.
