Hello,

My nurse had suggested this site as a way for me to cope with constant

pain. I am a cancer survivor (adenocarcinoma) cancer free for roughly 6

mos. Being in remission is not what I had expected. As a result of the

torturous treatments and my immunity being lowered I had developed an

infection which to me is as bad as the cancer.

My body, every organ, lymph node, at times even my hair hurts. I get quite a bit

of pain meds, fentanyl, roxanol, dilaudid and even they don't help at times.

Honestly I just want them to make me fall asleep. Sleeping is when I feel the

best.

I'm having a hard time dealing with all of this again. Going through it

once was enough for me and yet here I am again. I've tried a lot of

techniques but none seem to help very much. Any help or ideas will be

greatly appreciated.

Robin: I am 58 and sole support, although my son has had to move in to

help with the animals and the land and the ditches. I have suffered

for years and diagnosed someplace around 48. I also have hypothyroid

and reynauds, both very liveable. I lost everything at 48 when I

couldn't work for a year and have been rebuilding ever since. I tried

all the antidepressants and the side effects liked to killed me.

I stuck it out for 5 years with various meds and dosages and none of

those helped. My sister who is disabled and my daughter who is

disabled are also unable to metabolize any of those, so we always try

to tend to go back to older more generic drugs, although I did agree

to add a very small dose of lyrica months ago, and it has helped with

the burning stabbing point. I also wonder about MS and other things as

mine seems to flucuate like yours, but stick to your guns if you don't

want the antidepressants.

I refuse to see a doc who believes that is the only treatment. We are all

genetically different and our bodies metabolize different. We feel differently

from one day to the next, but always with chronic pain.

I wish you success in your search and pray it is not too painful. I almost lost

everything again this summer with a horrible flareup, but my doctor lets me

cocktail everything when needed to find relief that will work day by day as the

symptoms wax and wane.

Hi Jewel,

Nice to meet you as well!  I fell off the second floor deck because I am a dork,

hee hee.  It was warm and we had wasps everywhere outside.  I saw them hanging

around a drain pipe, so I climbed up on the railing to look into the drain

pipe.  I had a good grasp on our solid steel swing, or so I thought.  As I was

getting ready to get onto the deck to get the hose, I fell backwards onto the

ground.

My younger dog was outside at the time with me.  I was screaming help and my dog

was running to the fences barking like crazy.  He would run to a fence, bark,

run back to me and lick my head, then run to another fence.  I realized I had my

cell phone in my pocket, and called my neighbor who called emergency services.

What is funny now is my dog who was outside with me when it happened hates wasps

now and chases them!  Especially if they get near me! I think it's so cute!

He's such a good dog! :-)  And speaking of animals, my younger dog just got a

bath thanks to my husband and is running all over the house!

Yep, eight animals.  They help me out so much.  Especially when they all get

hyper at once.  I just curl into a ball on a chair and cover my head <ha ha>.

It is so funny.  Our hamsters are so funny.  One really isn't ours, but a

friends who is at a place she can't have animals.  It is funny when they are in

their hamster balls.  They ram down the cats!  <grin>.

South Dakota, where we live, is cold.  Yes it effects me.  Pressure changes hurt

me just as bad.  But, I think it will happen no matter where we are sent! :-D

Hi Cheryl!

I've missed everyone here too.  Things look as though they are easing up for

I am doing just that!  Smiling can be fun especially when there is a laugh in

there! :-D
