Guest guest
I have an appt with pain clinic at local hospital Aug. 11th for consultation. I had MRI on my back July 29th. Seems that I need the series of 3 cortisone shots in my back. I'm nervous .. just the thought of SHOTS in my back. I sure hope these shots work. With the back pain and fibromyalgia it had gotten to be too much. Doc always tries to minimize the issue .. I think so I don't over stress myself and create more fibro pain. This is the results of my MRI L1-L2 the disc, foramen and canal are normal L2-L3 Mild posterior bulge of the disc is present. the canal and foramina are widely patent L3-L4 Mild posterior bulge of the disc is present. There is a subtle tear within posterior central disc annulus. The canal and foramina are widely patent. L4-L5 Mild posterior bulge of the disc is present. The canal and foramina are widely patent. L5-S1 Moderate diffuse posterior bulge of the disc is present with broad-based osteophyte. there is a far lateral (formaminal) herniated disc/osteophyte complex on left side. There is associated severe left foraminial stenosis and impression upon exiting left L5 nerve root and dorsal root ganglion within the left foramen. There is moderate right foraminal stenosis. The central is widely patent. *Suzi*
Guest guest
Hi! How bad is your pain? I went through the shots, but they did nothing for me. I believe that unless they sedate you, take an x-ray, and out the cortisone exactly where is needs to be, cortisone shots rarely help. The first time I herniated a disc, (11 years ago) my parents made me wait an entire year before I went for surgery. My pain after surgery was excruciating because I had waited so long. The second, third and fourth time I herniated discs, I went for surgery right away and was up and about the next day and recovered in about a week, back to new. Is surgery an option for you? >Suzi wrote: > > > I have an appt with pain clinic at local hospital Aug. 11th for > consultation. I had MRI on my back July 29th.
