Terrorism, X-rays, and Martha

Richie,

Thank you for your comments about the terrorism here. I work in DC

and I saw the clouds from the Pentagon. Truly scary. I work near the

Capitol, in fact. We are all numb here.

Martha, thank you for your kind words for anyone who wants a

resurfacing. They do give hope.

I have sent my X rays off to Mr. Treacy and Dr. Gross, and also will

see Dr. Mont soon. So we shall see. I am not totally confident,

though, since I looked (big mistake)and my right hip looks soooo bad.

It's smaller and undeveloped from the infection I had as a baby, and

the femoral head looks like a sideways mushroom cap with short stem

(the rounded cap part is in the joint, but there's a hard straight

edge at the bottom of the head as it becomes the neck--like the edge

of a mushroom)with a very very short neck and the trochanter w/extra

bone up high. Sigh. I don't know how they will cap that, if they even

can. That sight depressed me and I burst out crying when I got home.

The tragedies, however, do put my little hip problem into

perspective. I am lucky in many ways...even if I have to get a THR,

that is something that can be done...and I have my house, my family,

my cat, my job...
