Guest guest
I just think of them as control freaks. People who are so insecure that they feel they must " stand in the way " of others. They are unhappy people that are glad to make others feel as they do. I go out of my way to be pleasant with people like that. They aren't quite sure how to react but at least I feel as though I'm not falling into their trap. We all want some control in our lives and I feel better about myself when I try and control my mood. I benefit the most in the long run. I've worked hard over the last few years to identify the positive things in my life. Nobody needs negative people around them, but sometimes it can't be avoided. Our reactions to what others do and say can cause lasting effects. Yes, it's not easy to change the way I was taught to behave around " mean " people. The way people can make me feel can easily cause a panic attack not to mention stress. The goal is to reduce stress. At least for me.
