Guest guest
Moderator's Note: " Movicol " and " Miralax " are same medication - (polyethlene glycol). Like so many other things, it has a different brand name, in different parts of the world. Lyndi Now on to Liza's post! ------------ Hi all, Seems strange that Ducolax has only just arrived over the counter in Australia, Ahh well. I have to agree that exercise is a factor and though I try to get some in I don't think its enough. I saw my Doctor yesterday and mentioned it to him as I have been in severe pain for 2 days and he recommended I try " Movicol " and after I paid for it the chemist tells me that because of my medications I can get it on script, but I wasn't going back so will get a script next time. I have to say I used one sachet and it has helped a bit (wasn't sure how to put that) so fingers crossed it will keep helping. Has anyone else tried this product? And if so was it helpful in the long term? Joan I do hope you find something that helps you.And I also agree with not being embaressed about asking the question. Good luck Regards, Liza
Guest guest
I use stool softeners and discovered(by accident) magnesium tablets with them work wonders. They are cheap too. S

Guest guest
Thankyou for that Lyndi, I didnt know that. I do have to say that the Movicol doesnt taste very nice though its says it has a lemon and lime flavour (I think they dont know what lemon and lime tastes like).Does anyone use this and if so have you added something to it to make it taste better? Guest guest
Boy I have been trying all your ideas and so far nothing has worked. I think having the colonoscopy really did something to me and now I am plugged up big time. Called my doc for help but she is on vacation til the 16th. Guess I will start going down the drugstore shelf but can't believe nothing is working. I have until Sunday because I have to go out of town and will be in a car for 3 days. Wish me luck!
