Guest guest
My pharmacy has lost three prescription I gave them to " keep on file " for me. I won't do it anymore. Then they tried to say I never gave them at all. I am so frustrated, this is my 3rd pharmacy and they just can't seem to get it right! I understand when Insurance won't fill a medication due to time limits(every 28-30 days or whatever) but when the Pharmacist says they won't fill something and then you have to get your Pain Management Dr. to call and tell them it's okay to fill (this has happened 4 times now) then something is wrong? Right? I am very respectful and try to be extra nice to these people. I have complained once when they said I couldn't refill my monthly pain medication until two days after I was out of them and it was obviously a mistake made by a Tech. I'm not going to suffer due to their mistakes. But how far is too far? I've been having these types of problems for years and am starting to think its just me. Caitlin Whenever I get a new prescription and the old one isn't quite ready yet to refill, I give my prescriptions to the pharmasist to hold onto for me until it's time for a refill. Guest guest
These new pharmacy assistants/techs don't know much and aren't very willing to help figure out any problems you are having. I think it's a sign of the times, or perhaps a sign that people who hire aren't good judges of character. I always talk to the pharmacist in charge when I feel a mistake is being made for whatever reason and I'm the one suffering. Caitlin, I just had this problem with a compound medication, they told us WE had to order the narcotic and bring it to them and I gave them the prescription and one month went by haggling with these people and my Doctor was asking me what was wrong with them but my insurance would pay if they got it right and sent it in. They even told me it was processed and ready because the computer said so. I know which pharmacist to trust and which not to and I have had a personal " come to the alter meeting so to speak " I was kind but told her " Would you like to change places with me so please get this right. " Finally the compound pharmacist has the prescription ready and assured me I just have to let her know a week before hand, so I am crossing my fingers. Each of us have to decide to keep the prescription for yourself as I have had my prescriptions mailed to me instead of the pharmacy in the past as the store manager received the mail and kept it on his desk and didn't take it to the pharmacy. So each of us have to have to be careful, I make a copy for myself when they make the copies at the doctors office so I can show I have had it and write who I gave it to, the date, time etc so they cannot dispute it. I have not had the problem that they said I never gave it to them, the pharmacist has called the doctor and got a prescription for me so I deal only with her. It is not you and one night I told them " How would you like to be without meds because of your mistake " and they offered to give me medication for over the weekend but it was closing time (what a coincidence) but this woman got the message. She is a rotating pharmacist and I just came out and told her that the only time I have problems is when she is working and why is she even showing up if she cannot fill prescription. (The pain coming thru) So you are not alone Caitlin. Bennie
