Guest guest
I wanted to emphasize how important it is to decrease the medicine VERY slowly, especially since you have been on it so long. Any neurologic symptoms, such as depression, could result from too quickly altering neurotropic medications. This is true for both increasing and decreasing, unless there is some unusual situation that requires a rapid reduction. Also, and specific to amitryptaline, is that it is INCREDIBLY sedating, so that one could easily feel " depressed " from lethargy and sedation which are side effects of the drug. I hope this helps.
