Guest guest
Hi Denene, I also live in Oklahoma. (Go SOONERS) I live right next to the Arkansas state line. West of Siloam Springs. My pain is caused by Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. I have complete demyelination from the second to the sixth vertebra. I'm sure everyone knows what that means, but just in case, it means that the myelin, which is the insulation around the nerves, has deteriorated and now my nerves are bare. Sometimes just moving the wrong way will make me fall down in horrible pain. I know exactly what you mean by falling down all the time. I'm now in a wheelchair, but before that I fell at least once a day and usually more. Some doctors think that the pain associated with MS is more like RSD pain. All I know is I'm in constant pain and I have to take several pills to help control it. I don't particularly like taking so much medication, but I do because doing so gives me quality of life. Most of the time I can enjoy my family and especially my grandchildren with the medication. So I'll keep on taking them for that reason. I would love to talk with you more. Do you live in Oklahoma City? That's about 4 hours from me. I used to drive it quite a bit when I could still drive. My daughter went to college in Edmond so I drove there quite a bit. Have a Merry Christmas and much less pain. Carol (OK > Denene wrote: > Hi, My name is Denene and I am 44 years old and from OKlahoma. Guest guest
Hi, I am 2 1/2 hours from Amarillo to the East and 2 1/2 hours from Wichita Falls Texas I am close to outside of Weatherford, Oklahoma actually. I already fell here. I am in Ada, Oklahoma right now at my mother in laws. I fall a lot and would be better off using a wheelchair or a electric scooter would even be better for me but as of yet to get a doctor to prescribe it for me is a joke, so I keep falling until I do get one. When I get home I will email more. We leave tomorrow sometime for home. Denene Carol in OK wrote: I also live in Oklahoma. (Go SOONERS) I live right next to the Arkansas > state line. Guest guest
Hi Denene, I'm so sorry you keep falling. I know it hurts and I'm so afraid your going to really hurt yourself. Your doctor should be afraid of that also. My primary care physician wrote my prescription. I have a wheelchair and an electric chair. I hate having to be in them but the alternative is falling down and I hate that worse. lol Talk to your doctor about it. You might even try using a walker. I used one for a couple of years until my mobility got to the point where it wasn't helping me much. I am worried about you falling so much. Please be careful, go slow, and hold on to things as much as possible. Carol (OK)
Guest guest
My pain doctor cares about the pain but NOT the falling. I am looking for Another doctor. I am NOT happy with this one I have in Oklahoma City right now. I have a stimulator that helps with the pain but with the pain now being all my back and neck and still falling. He is only wanting $$ and right now with hubby's pay we can't afford to pay anything. I am not eating like I should with hubby on the job. He is driving truck long haul and gets barely enough to eat and live on the truck on the job he can't send $ home and I can't work and make limited $ I barely pay bills and then lucky to get any if very little food to eat after all that. I owe him and the hospital so much they don't want to see me again till they get paid in full! My medicare didn't all of it and left me with a nice hunk of amount to pay yet!!
