Guest guest
Like a, I only have good things to say about acupuncture. I've seen 2 different acupuncturists. Both were " Americans " and both were also MDs. Each told me that 15-20% of people with back problems such as mine, will see relief from acupuncture treatments. Both also said to give it at least 5 or 6 visits before I judged the whether or not it was working. With me, the only time of the month I am not feeling back pain is about 5 minutes after the needles are inserted. Usually within 15 minutes, I am feeling so good I fall asleep and stay sleeping until the doc wakes me up. She inserts needles in my head and lower back and attaches an electric stimulator unit to 4 of the 6 lower back needles. I highly recommend it to be tried by everyone. Of course, each practitioner is different and I would try to get referrals from friends/family to find a good one. The insertion of the needles seldom hurts much and there is usual very little pain involved FOR ME. I find that if I go more than 4 weeks between visits, then I have a little more muscle pain after the next treatment, but an ice pack when I get home is usually all I need. One of the biggest benefits for me when I get a treatment, is that I can sleep a lot more for the next 3 or 4 nights. The first day I can sometimes sleep up to 16 hours ( in 2 or 3 periods ). The next two (sometimes 3 ) nights, I can usually sleep 6 or 7 hours and then I drop back to sleeping 2 or 3 hours at a time. Besides the pain free period, I get when the needles are in the sleep benefit is the best result in my opinion. I hope you can try it and see some good results Jim aka Broken_Gargoyle check the latest out at : http://www.gargoylesdomain.com
Guest guest
I know of two people with MS who feel acupuncture has helped a lot, and one person said it didn't do anything. Each of them did it for a long time and/or are still doing it. > > > Thanks Cyrstal! Also, I was thinking about what Hope said about > restoring circulation to the body to promote healing and thought about > acupuncture which is supposed to be excellent for restoring circulation
