Guest guest
I Am, I just called my Working Comp caseworker. I asked about getting second opinion about my ankle. The problem is the Dr who marginally did the surgery said if he have to drill or break my bone to get the broken screw out and put the new one in the ankle it may not heal right (a 50/50 chance). Plus the screw is inside my ankle bone (don't ask me how they did this). So that why I'm constant pain. Some days are better than others. It's just that if I'm on feet a lot it hurt. I do have brace and insole for my shoe. I went to the Rheumatologist today and he prescribed me Percocet not many. It can be addictive, and sure does make me sleepy but it does work. >Mist wrote: Dear Dear Christa; >I am not clear on the in's and out's of workman's comp. I would call the state offices that handle all the information and make a list of questions you want direct answers to.
Guest guest
Hi Christa Even more reason to get a 2nd opinion. What do they call the doctor who was the very last in his class? Doctor I walked on crutches for 8 months on a shattered knee that had been cludged together with pins plates and screws. I found a new doctor and he put in a new knee. While I still can't walk very far, at least I can walk now. My new doc said I would never have healed or walked right with the way my leg was after the first doctor was through with me. Please do your self a favor and ask everyone you know if they can recommend a good orthopedic surgeon to you. You have rights regardless of what your case worker told you. In addition he or she is not your friend nor are they on your side. I went through heck because my case worker was so " nice " . Just my opinion but this sounds like a major life changing injury. My husband forced me finally to get a lawyer. It was a good thing. Mind you this is all just suggestions based on my own experience. I hope you find the right road for you to travel. Guest guest
I hate doctors, but a second opinion is always wise. Make an appointment with a good ortho doc, they may have you send your x-ray in advance or mri, or have you get new images. They can back that broken screw out, there are tools that do just that if that would be the right thing to do. I think you will feel better about knowing how another good surgeon has to say about it. Let them know in advance that this is an appointment for a second opinion. Jennette >Christa Dondero wrote: >I just called my Working Comp caseworker.
