I just found an article links all to back radicula. (back pain) It also explains the hip bursitis I had as part of the irritation of the piriformis muscle. Article states: Many cases of refractory trochanteric bursitis are observed to have an underlying occult piriformis syndrome due to the insertion of the piriformis muscle on the greater trochanter of the hip. If a patient's trochanteric bursitis and piriformis syndrome are treated inadequately, both conditions remain resistant to medical management. The most effective thing for me was myofascial release on the piriformis syndrome and stretches, keeping the muscle stretched. My pysical therapist is trained in this. You Tube has videos of articles on how to exercise but check with your doctor. If you are not doing a home exercise program from a physical therapist, you probably would want to. Here is the link to the article I refered above. http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/308798-overview The exercise has helped me above all. Good Luck with your pain.
