Guest guest
Hi Anne, I'm not sure if it will help a condition as severe as yours but I use Biotene toothpaste and mouthwash. It helps replenish the good bacteria, if I understand it correctly. Anyway, they have a new product that is a mouthspray. I keep it by my bed as my mouth gets very dry when I sleep. I don't find it unpleasant and it is very soothing to me. J. Guest guest
I also use Biotene, and a spray for dry mouth. If that's not enough to keep things moist, Biotene also makes a gel about the consistency of toothpaste that you can squeeze out into your mouth and spread over the really dry places. It's kind of oogy having your mouth full of gelly stuff at night, but it does keep the tissues protected and it's minty flavored so it doesn't taste bad. Guest guest
I have sjogrens and wish someone would have told me to use fluoride daily before my teeth were destroyed. Act rinse after brushing is great and inexpensive or there is a rx strength Deb r Sent from my iPhone I also use Biotene, and a spray for dry mouth. Guest guest
I use most of the items others have listed: fluoride rinse, Act and the Biotene toothpaste and gel. CVS Pharmacy has a generic version of ACT, which is even cheaper. Additionally, I take a drug called Salagen which increases the salivary flow. You might ask your doctor or dentist about it or something similar. My severely dry mouth results in problems with canker sores inside my cheeks and on the hard palate of the mouth. There is a wonderful concoction called 's Magic Mix. It has a pain reliever, anti-fungal and (I think) an anti-biotic. You need to get a prescription for it. I can get it from my GP or my dentist. If they are not familiar with it, they can talk to any CVS pharmacist.
