Guest guest
Moderator's Note: Enalapril is known to causes rashes and can also cause hives. Lyndi Now on to 's post! ------- I am at my wits end and could use some help. I am currently taking the following meds: Morphine Sulfate ER, Oxycodone, Glucophage XR, Glimepiride, Atenolol and Enalapril/hctz. I have a Sulphur allergy and questioned these meds but was told it shouldn't be a problem. Well, here is the problem now. For about 3 months I have had a mystery rash on my lower back/tailbone, side of my right leg and on my scalp on the back of my head. It itches and burns badly and have tried OTC Benydryl oral,Benydryl cream, Cortisone 10 and prescription Steriod cream to no avail. Both legs are so swollen with fluid that they feel like they are going to split. Both my Pain Dr and Family Dr have seemed baffled. I am diabetic and feel that they should be a little more helpful at resolving this. It is driving me crazy!! One thing to note - I was given a Pred Pack for a deep chest cold at a Walkin Clinic about 2 1/2 months ago and much to my surprise the Prednisone resolved the rash reaction for a few days but it came back with a vengence. I have both dr appointments coming up this Friday (Pain Mgmt) and next Friday (Family Dr) and was hoping to have some of your ideas to throw at them to get this resolved. Thanks! Gentle hugs,
Guest guest
, I am just going to throw this out as an idea. Ezcema or something similiar. It is a skin disorder that starts out looking like poison ivy. It can break out anywhere (believe me I have had it in many different places). I can cause the area to itch terrible, swell, red and burn. Predisone helps relieve the pain and itching. I have used tropical steriod medication. the cream did not help. However the ointment form worked in combination with the predisone. I don't know if this will be of any help, but perhaps it may help you and your doctor figure out your sx. I will hold positve thoughts that you will get relief soon. Hugs, Tami wrote: > I am at my wits end and could use some help. Guest guest
Dear : I would seriously look up each of the drugs your on, and see if there are: 1 any contraindications for any of these drugs being used together. 2 See if any of their side effects is swelling of the lower legs and itching.. It sounds like to me that your having a side effect perhaps even an allergic reaction. Prednisone is great for fighting inflammation of nerves, soft tissues and lowering allergic problems. You might also call your pharmasist and see what they think a lot of times they know more about the drugs the doctors are prescribing than the doctors do. You need to get it checked for a diagnosis and proper treatment plan. I took Valtrex and it made it go away. Good Luck. Bennie

Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing and you cannot stop it immediately but with Doctor's direction. I would contact your Doctor with the conditions you have for takeing the and hctz, something is going on you need checked. Bennie
Guest guest
My hubby has Psoriasis it started just like that it can cause swelling, itchy rash, and effects the immune system.
