Not OT at all. My husband tries to keep up with stuff when I'm down, but he

misses some of the less obvious chores, like watering things that aren't right

in front of him.

It's frustrating but at least he tries.

I think the weeds and grass took my garden over on purpose. I probably wasn't

up to taking care of it and harvesting this summer anyway. It seemed to happen

in a matter of a couple of days.

I used to have a beautiful herb garden several years ago. Wonder if I had ought

to start with containers instead of the ground.

My hubby has a black thumb. All my house plants have died but not all the

cactus.

I had beautiful Ivys, spider plants and some beautiful bleeding

hearts.Between my cat eating them and hubby not watering them they are gone.

My sons took care of the garden and my herbs when it is time for the herbs to

come in for the winter. I have them surrounded by cactus. It keeps the cat away

and the hubby.

Blessed be,

through a lot physically?

Mist,

I had to give it up and I covered all my flower beds with lava rocks, It was a

loss but I have to take care of myself and was just thankful for the years I had

the beautiful yard. Unless you have someone to help you and even do it

yourself, you have to take care of yourself. Bennie

Hi Bennie,

My name is Mags. I don't write often, but I can totally agree with you. Tthis

summer I got all my pot plants emptied. I felt absolutely useless at the moment

with med change etc. Those flowers gave me some hope. Now they're gone.

I haven't got to the stage of getting rid of my potted plants. I do find it hard

to keep the watering up due to fatigue. But when I do it I relax. I will be

installing a sprinkler system when I get some energy. We must find other ways to

keep the things we enjoy and find easier ways to do them. I couldn't bare to

part with my plants.

I love my potted herbal garden & my regular garden.I love taking care of them.

I

have a problem with my outside garden. My hubby has a black thumb. He killed off a

lot of my plants .My youngest son now takes care of my outside garden, thank the

Goddess, & he has brought a lot of my plants back to life.He has my green

thumb. He also loves cooking with fresh ingredients.

He has told me that when he

gets his own place he want pieces of my plants to grow his own.

I use to live in

an apartment I learned how to have container garden that grew fruit, &

vegetables along with all my herbs. My2older sons, who are on their own, also

took parts of my plants to grow.I guess I taught them well.

Have a great day

Blessed be,

Ms. Katurah and Jenette,

Container gardening is a great idea so you can move them close to you and just

start with a couple and don't do what I did, overdid it and could not

even take care of those. I also plant xeroscape plants, ones that do not need

much watering and some of the succulents (catctus) family do not

have pricklys and do flower. Mine come back every year.

My son went out last year and planted roses and vines around my fence and spent

twelve hours and came in and said, " Mom, look, it's like it used to be "

He forgot it takes nurturing but he was so proud because I used to have every

type of rose you could imagine and have cut flowers and he missed that.

I still have some climbing roses but I stick silk flowers out there in pots and

some people don't know the difference and it makes me feel better.

I plant Canna and they spread and you cannot kill them at all. Just start a

little and what you can control. Good Luck.
