Hi I often had back pain, and abdominal pain when I had endometriosis. A hot water bottle, or heating pad helps next to your abdomen, or wherever it hurts. Ibuprofen, or another NSAID can be helpful too. What has your doctor done for a definitive diagnosis? Guest guest
Donna, Before I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, I was admitted to the hospital for appendicitis because I had severe abdominal pain. After the surgery the doctor told me they could find no cause for my pain, but removed the appendix while they were in there. For about 2 years I did fine, and then the pain returned. The pain was so severe I would turn a different color, almost pass out and sometimes vomit. The doctors all thought it was endometriosis and decided to perform surgery to explore the cause of pain. They again found nothing. The pain continued and then I was diagnosed with Fibro, which was one explanation of the pain. Pain medicines did not help and so I visited a naturopath who also performed acupuncture. I went off birth control, and refrained from using tampons, in coordination with getting the acupuncture. To my amazement the abdominal pain went away and I have not experienced it since. I do not know if this information will help you, but figured I would share my own experience in hopes of giving you some perspective. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress. Hi Donna Is your doctor talking about a hysterectomy? I had one when I was thirty due to severe endometriosis. If I had known sooner that's what it was, I would have had it done five minutes after my second child was born, when I was twenty-five. I know there are other options, but in my situation, I barely had one week out of a month when I almost felt human. Let us know how you are doing.
