Guest guest
Debbie, Relax hon docs that specialize in Fibro expect other docs to think that you are a drug seeker. I have a friend that was refused service because of the same thing and when she saw the Fibro specialist they just laughed it off. It's not uncommon for those of us in fact it's a rule not an exceptrion. To keep pain meds from a surger or tooth ache or purchase them on the streets because Doc's don't believe that we are in pain. Please go to that website I posted yesterday and print everything up it will really help you see it and it says in there that many of us with fms are called drug seekers by others. Could give you some empowerment at least. Big Hugs and Prayers to you!!! Teddy

Guest guest
BOY Debbie you sound just like did at the so called best Hospital for pain management in Iowa Mercy hospital pain center and then later at the Vets Hospital. Here is my story. I felt that there was something really wrong with me because everything they tried helped me very little or not at all. As a general rule I communicate with my God on a daily basis and I believe in my heart that this has gotten me through some very rough times. But I also believe that my God as I believe him to be expects me to take care of all of the small problems in my life and in the total scheme of life almost everything is very small. But if you can name one person who can live with chronic pain on daily basis and never become tired of it you have found a true saint. I'm sorry but a saint I am not. I would greatly appreciate if anyone out there can give me some advice, clues anything. Even just starting with the rudimentary information about FMS. What causes it? What can I do to relive some of the daily pain or even some way that I can stay awake for more than one or two hours at a time? I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can give me. In the pure love of our maker I thank you. Don Frew

Guest guest
Low thyroid, and many doctors find abnormalities with endocrine secretions in general which can affect how we feel cold, our sleep, hunger, and why we are always thirsty. Guest guest
Don, Fibromyalgia is a disease of the muscles. It can be gotten many ways and the only way to test for it (as far as I know) is to be seen by a rheumatologist. The only relief I have found from any of it is the medicine I am currently on...yet I am still in pain. I take zoloft for depression (which is a crock, cause I know that if they got me out of pain, I wouldn't be so depressed), I take flexeril (muscle relaxers), and I take something for my thyroid since it alsmost quit working......by the way...have you had yours checked? It could be why you are so tired or your tiredness could be coming from your body needing a rest cause it is fighting off pain 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The only suggestions I have for that is to lay down and take a nap. I know that if you are working, that suggestion is hysterical, but if you can be at home...that is what you need to do. I know that there are many scientists trying to figure out more about fibromyalgia and I know that if you are going to a doctor who doesn't know much about the disease, you will eventually become very depressed and desperate for help. Where are you from? Maybe someone on this list lives in that state also and can recommend someone for you to go to. I will keep you in my prayers and I hope that I answered some of your questions.
